Helpful Links for Home Practice

Mindful Art Home Practice Tips

  1. Get rid of distractions.
  2. Perhaps play relaxing music.  I especially like music by RIOPY and use his song titled "Meditation 22" in my classes.
  3. Maybe set a timer so that you have a finite stop / reconsider point – you will be amazed with what you can do in 5 minutes.
  4. Come into the present moment.
  5. Gather a piece of paper and pen.
  6. Make a border – square/rectangle/freeform– this creates a “container” to create within.
  7. Make a “string” within the border.  Here is a link with some ideas.  https://tanglepatterns.com/category/tanglepatterns-strings.
  8. Choose a pattern to draw within the string. There are 1000’s. They are sometimes called tangles or zentangle patterns or doodles. You can search for patterns or check out this link with lots of ideas… https://tanglepatterns.com/
  9. Don't be afraid to try something new and play.
